What’s amazing to me is how many hoops I had to jump through from almost every angle to get this simple thing going.
- Had to create a new email because my other emails were attached to other Substacks.
- Had to go around and around with Proton mail to just set up a basic email. That used to be a LOT easier.
- Had to do THIS POST because you can’t really share a Substack link on social media. (X, Facebook, and others don’t really want you to share Substack links because it’s very serious competition for them.)
- Had to create a Substack in the first place to start building a Dark Romance readership list, because if you read my other stuff, you might not be interested in Dark Romance.
I’ve released two erotica books and I was looking forward to not having all the blocks you face with erotica, and there are still SO MANY BLOCKS on everything you do. Imagine what it would have been like to establish a new erotica profile. What a mess!
One of the things l like to share here is the journey you have as a writer, particularly an indie writer. And this is a good example of how something that should be so simple can end up eating up half your productive time.
So… The New Newsletter
I’m going to be writing TWO NEW NOVELS in the Dark Romance genre, so I wanted to start building out my assets for my K.D. Hooper pen name. This newsletter is the first step.
There will be all kinds of goodies that I share on there, including actual first draft chapters of my books.
I explain it all in the first post, so I want to leave the details for you to read there.
